Supporting The Local Area
Supporting the local area and environment is a key part of the Danes Park vision. Alongside providing new homes, we are contributing to a range of community and environmental projects, including:
- Primary Education Contribution:
Approximately £770,000 towards the expansion of Ashley Infant and Junior Schools or New Milton Infant and Junior Schools. - Local Restoration Project Contribution: Donation towards the restoration of New Milton’s oldest building- The Station Master’s House
- School Travel Plan Contribution:
Around £27,000 towards improvements to parking and school travel planning at Ashley Junior and Infant Schools. - Formal Open Space Offsite Contribution:
Approximately £40,000 towards offsite sports facilities, including enhancements to Fawcett’s Field in New Milton. - Habitats Mitigation Contribution:
Around £137,000 towards protecting and managing the New Forest habitats. - Air Quality Monitoring Contribution:
Approximately £17,000 towards monitoring and minimising the effects of development on local air quality. - Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL):
A contribution of approximately £1.4 million is being made to New Forest District Council to support wider local infrastructure projects, with around £350,000 directed specifically for projects managed by New Milton Town Council.

Around 50% of Danes Park has been dedicated to green and open spaces, ensuring residents have access to nature while helping to protect local biodiversity.
Communal areas, natural planting, and wildlife-friendly features have been carefully planned to encourage biodiversity and create an attractive, healthy environment for everyone.
This approach supports local wildlife, enhances the landscape, and contributes to the long-term well-being of residents and the wider community.

Special boxes and shelters for bats, birds, hedgehogs, and insects hidden in the trees and bushes.
Nature-friendly drainage (SuDS)
Ponds and basins that help with rainwater and double as safe spots for frogs, reptiles, insects, and birds.
Wildlife corridors
Natural paths and planting help animals like reptiles and hedgehogs move safely through the area.
Natural footpaths
Easy-to-follow paths winding through meadows and around ponds, with information boards explaining what’s around you.
Regular care & clean-up
Everything will be maintained for years – grass cut properly, wildlife cared for, and paths kept tidy.
Long-term plan
Managed and improved over 25+ years to stay beautiful and support wildlife.
